FAQs

DOES CONE HEALTH OWN EAGLE?

No. Eagle is an independent physician-owned group that provides a wide range of care in offices across the Greensboro, NC area. Eagle's Board of Directors consists entirely of physicians in medical practice at Eagle, not by hospital, insurance company or business executives. Although we operate independently, we are also members of the medical staff at the Cone Health System.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF EAGLE PHYSICIANS?

Eagle was formed in 1995 by 33 private Greensboro physicians from five long-established, small, private group practices. Eagle's physician founders decided it was essential to remain an independent, physician-owned and led organization yet grow to improve the quality of patient care and service. This type of physician-directed organization helps ensure that Eagle's principal focus remains on the medical needs of patients, now and in the future.

Eagle's objective is to offer patients the advantages of having a personal primary-care physician selected by the patient, as well as providing the comforts of a small office setting with the benefits of a larger, multispecialty group practice. Eagle's physicians have dedicated themselves to working together as colleagues in the context of a larger, multispecialty group practice in order to collaborate on quality improvements, to offer new clinical and administrative services, to become more specialized where appropriate and to be cost-effective. By practicing "evidence-based medicine" and gaining economies of scale in purchasing the goods and services necessary to run a medical practice, Eagle can offer more cost-effective services and outstanding value.

DO EAGLE DOCTORS ACCEPT NEW MEDICARE PATIENTS?

Yes, most Eagle Physicians currently accept Medicare patients. Please contact the office of your choice for specific details.

CAN I BE AN EAGLE PATIENT IF EAGLE DOES NOT CONTRACT WITH MY PARTICULAR HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN?

Yes! You can still be an Eagle Patient if we are not contracted with your insurance; however, we only file claims to insurance plans we are contracted with. If we are not contracted with your plan, you will be offered a prompt pay adjustment of 30% at the time of your visit. Upon payment, we will provide you with a receipt and a summary of your services which will include all information necessary for you to file to your insurance company for reimbursement. Any payment issues with a non-contracted insurance plan are the responsibility of the patient.
